Review guidelines
How reviews work on Scout, what we screen for, and how to report a problem.
Where reviews come from
Every review comes from a real, completed booking - there is no other way to leave one. Each side of a booking can review the other once, within 14 days of completion. Reviews are final: they can't be edited after submission.
Anonymity and reveal
Reviews don't display names. A review stays hidden until both sides have reviewed, or the 14-day window closes - whichever comes first - so nobody can read the other side's review before writing their own. Review dates display at month level only.
What we screen for
Every review is checked before it appears. We hold back reviews containing: swearing or profanity (in any usage), insults or personal attacks, discriminatory or hateful language, threats or harassment, personal details that could identify someone (names, addresses, phone numbers, yard names), unverified accusations of crime or dishonesty, sexual content, or advertising. A held review is checked by a person, who either publishes it or declines it - if declined, you can submit a reworded review while your window is open.
A review is never held back or removed for being negative. Honest criticism of service, punctuality, price, or communication always stands.
Reporting a review
Every published review has a Report link. Use it if you believe a review breaks these guidelines or wasn't written by a genuine customer. Reports go to a person to investigate; removal decisions are based on these guidelines, never on whether the review is critical.
